LIFE ALWAYS LEAVES AN OPEN DOOR

Hello,

On this quiet Sunday, I am getting ready to share with you my project that I have been working on for several weeks now.

I am excited to launch a new platform for all the posts I share on all my social media accounts and more; where we can develop solutions for your questions and your queries and needs, and where we can communicate better.

Every organization or individual is required or preferred to have insurance. Even for common insurance products, additional information and consultancy is sometimes required. When it comes to corporate risks, the content of insurance becomes more complex and many relevant laws and practices come into play.

Unfortunately, incomplete information and lack of knowledge about the product is only revealed when it is too late and the damage is done. This puts many people, especially those who decide about insurance, in a difficult situation. Decisions are questioned, relationships with the insurance company, which acts according to the scope of the policy, are strained and may even come to a breaking point.

The sector cannot make the desired breakthrough due to the vicious circle of disappointment when insurance, which is considered an expensive and unnecessary cost when the risk is not realized, does not step in as expected when the damage occurs. Understanding the insurance logic and products, recognizing that insurance is not procurement but rather a transfer of risk, open communication and information exchange with the insurance provider, and being aware of the necessity to understand the conditions can reduce the problems that may arise later.

That is why it is important that insurance be sought without being left to the last minute, without being rushed; after the assessment of needs and the scope of insurance that responds to these needs in the most comprehensive approach; and that the scope is embraced and the responsibilities of the parties are determined from the beginning, as is the case in every contract.

In my nearly 30 years of professional life, I am about to celebrate my 23rd year in the insurance sector. I started my career in this sector by coincidence, and it gave me the opportunity to get to know the dynamics of business life that I had not experienced until then. It helped me to recognize and understand the perspective of a Chairman of the Board of Directors, a General Manager and a CFO.

Between 1994-1999, I worked as a project manager in human resources and management consulting companies, on recruitment projects and performance management. At Axa Oyak Hayat Sigorta, which was established after the merger of Axa Oyak and Nordstern Imtaş in 2000, I assumed the role of Assistant General Manager for new roles in the post-merger organization; working on business models, communication and press relations. At the end of 2000, I joined Nart Insurance Brokerage. Thanks to the experience I have gained in this occupation, I have been involved in the insurance of corporate risks of many local and international companies operating in Turkey. The strong friendships that have lasted for years with many insurance companies were forged during these years. In 2005, I started to work in the Risk Management department of the Turkey Office of Marsh, the world's largest global broker, and thanks to my responsibilities and roles for more than 13 years, I worked with the shareholders, Boards of Directors, senior executives, risk managers and teams of these professionals of the leading large conglomerates of our country. At JLT, where I worked until it was acquired by Marsh, I have witnessed how a global company skillfully blends insurance dynamics with a boutique service approach. Sigortayeri, where I have been working for the last 3 years, has been a place where I have gained brand new experiences in digital insurance and customer experience side, where I have not had much experience until now. The years of mutual labor in these organizations have made a great contribution to my career.

Throughout all my projects, I have witnessed many situations that have broadened my horizons and reinforced the importance of experience, such as the strategies of professionals, their approach to risks, their reactions to crises, how they negotiate with insurance intermediaries and companies. In particular, I have observed how multinational companies consider insurance as a corporate function, and that insurance, which is usually seen as a cost, goes far beyond conventional wisdom with this strategy and becomes one of the lifeblood of the company.

Thanks to this, I had the opportunity to meet and work with many insurance companies, reinsurers and UWs in Turkey and abroad, with whom I am still in close contact.

Countless times I have witnessed the lack of understanding in the processes of organizations before deciding on the insurance they pay large premiums for, and what these shortcomings lead to. Whether an organization or an individual, everyone needs consultancy; insurance is a complex product. Intermediary institutions or individuals are expected to know their policyholders well, be competent and guide them with their expertise, experience and perspectives. Since insurance is a product that needs to be constantly updated and improved in line with the changes in the lives of organizations and individuals, the relationship between the insurance consultant and the insured must be perpetual.

All of this brings me back to the very beginning of the process - the need to get the right counseling while taking out insurance. In fact, when taking out insurance, one also decides what kind of service to receive in the event of a claim.

Any insurance that is not done accurately is an expensive cost and undermines your trust.

I am here to help you make decisions “on the same side of the table”, with your particular facts and dynamics.

Hope to see you soon...
